Wife of ‘Will & Grace’ star Eric McCormack files for divorce after 26 years of marriage

The couple had been married since 1997.

According TMZHolden filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences,” in an article published Wednesday.

McCormack is widely known for playing the charming gay lawyer Will Truman on the NBC sitcom. Will and Grace which ran between 1998 and 2006.

Both McCormack and Holden are from Canada. After they met on the set of the western series “Lonesome Dove,” the two married three years later in August 1997. McCormack gushed about the beginning of their relationship during an interview with The Guardian back in 2007.

“She was the vice principal. She was just getting out of a relationship and she couldn’t trust me,” she recalled. “She had been dating actresses but Janet was different. She wore jeans, she drove a truck… At first she wasn’t very interested. She knew that actors require a lot of work: it would be like taking your work home. But I managed to convince her. We had a secret affair the first season. I mean, dating team! In reality, it was much worse for her, because she was not supposed to give preferential treatment to any of the actors.”

TMZ reports that Holden is actively seeking spousal support.

The two share a 21-year-old son named Finnigan.

Not much has been revealed about the couple’s fight, but from the surface, things don’t seem too friendly.
