While Perry’s fans are concerned that his Batman-related posts may have been a cry for help, one of his close friends disagrees.
Matthew Perry’s friend Athenna Crosby recently opened up about the actor’s obsession with Batman.
The day before Perry was found dead, Crosby was seen having lunch with him. And according to Crosby, the Friends The student’s Battman-inspired posts were not a cry for help.
In an interview with TMZas reported by The US sun, Crosby explained: “Matthew was very sweet and a bit of a nerd. He loved Batman. He called his car the Batmobile because it was all tinted black and had matte paint, just like the Batmobile.”
“Lately he went by Mattman, which was a nickname he gave himself and he was really goofy and playful,” she added.
“I think people assume that his posts about the Bat-Signal or the fact that he called himself Batman were some kind of subliminal message for help or a cry for help; that’s completely false,” Crosby continued. “He was just a sweet nerd who liked Batman. He talks about his love for Batman in the book. “Anyone who speculates that he had anything to do with this is getting carried away.”
Additionally, Crosby stated that Perry was in “good spirits” the day before his death and “excited about the future.” He added that his death was a “freak accident” and that there was “nothing wrong with him.”

Molly Hurwitz, Perry’s ex-fiancee, mourned the actor in a heartfelt Instagram post.
In the caption, he explained: “He would love for the world to talk about how talented he was. And he really had a lot of talent.”
“Although I loved him more deeply than I could understand, it was complicated and caused pain like I had never felt before,” Hurwitz added.
“No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry. “I feel enormous gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship.”
Hurwitz, a literary director, came out with the Friends actor from 2018 to 2021. The couple called off their relationship seven months after their engagement.
