Many Swifties believe that Taylor Swift’s new album, The Department of Tortured Poetsis partly about Matty Healy from The 1975.
While most fans speculate that the album will be about her ex, Joe Alwyn, others are suspicious of certain leaked titles and lyrics that appear to describe Taylor’s brief relationship with Matty.
Following Taylor and Joe’s breakup last year, the singer dated Matty shortly after their six-year relationship ended. Fans and critics had a lot of things (mostly negative) to say about the couple, as Matty has a controversial past.
However, even though they supposedly only dated for about a month, Taylor seems to have gathered enough inspiration from their romance to create a song or two. In fact, fans seem to believe TTPD The songs titled “Guilty as Sin”, “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)” and “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” are about him.
“Did you really think Taylor was going to write a song called ‘I Can Fix Him’ and it wouldn’t be about Matty Healy?” one person wrote in X.
“’The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived’ is obviously about Matty Healy. He’s not about a long-term boyfriend,” said another.

Part of Taylor Swift’s new album supposedly leaked earlier this week, and some of the lyrics, if they’re real, appear to be about Matty Healy.
Specifically, one of the songs supposedly includes the lines: “You smoked and then ate seven bars of chocolate, we declared that Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist… I scratch your head, you fall asleep like a tattooed golden retriever.”
Again, this is pure speculation as AI augmentation could be behind this “leaked” album. Some even say it’s impossible for the lyrics to be real.
However, many Swifties are surprised that much of the album could be about Taylor’s brief fling with Matty.
Taylor is not one to confirm (or deny) who her songs are about. However, he did mention that writing TTPD It helped her get through an incredibly dark time.
“It kind of reminded me why writing songs is something that really helps me in life,” he said during his Eras Tour concert in Melbourne, Australia, last month. “And I’ve never had an album where I’ve needed songwriting more than I needed it on Tortured poets.“
