The first season of Netflix’s new reality competition series, The squid game: the challengeIt’s officially over.
The season finale episode was added to the streamer on Wednesday night (December 6) and now we can talk about the winner.
Heading into the finals, there were three contestants left in the game: Sam aka 016, Mai aka 287, and Phill aka 451.

Mai Whelan aka 287 – WINNER
During dinner for the three finalists, they were given a test that determined the two finalists. There were three buttons in the middle of the room and they had to decide who would press a button first. A button would light up green, sending that contestant to the finals and allowing him to choose her opponent. A button would light up gray, with no consequences for that person. The last button would light up red, immediately eliminating the person who pressed it.
Mai went first and her button turned gray, so she sat back down. Sam was next and his button lit up red, so he was eliminated, sending Mai and Phill to the finals.
The final game was rock, paper, scissors. The winner of each round had the opportunity to choose a key from a pile and attempt to open the safe containing the prize money. The first to open the safe was crowned the winner.
Mai ruled the game, winning most rounds and being the first to find the correct key. She won 4.56 million dollars!
So what is he doing with the money?

Mai plans to renovate her house with the prize money and one of the main plans is to build a dock for a boat.
