She grew up in Tallahassee, Florida. Marie Norris (mother) and Ed DePuy (father) are her parents. Her father was the district head of Leon, and her mother was a teacher. She worked as her mother’s assistant in home renovations, so she considered it her first job. Ed, her father, died in April 2013. Her older brother is a retired Navy pilot.

She attended North Florida Christian High School in Tallahassee as a child and graduated in 1988, at the age of 17. She attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia after graduating from high school. Bream competed in the Miss Virginia pageant while attending Liberty University and won the title in 1990. She competed in the 1991 Miss America pageant and finished in the top ten. She earned a business degree from Liberty University in 1993. Bream then went to Tallahassee and attended law school at Florida State University. She later won the 1995 Miss Florida USA pageant and finished fourth in the 1995 Miss USA pageant. In 1996, she received her Bachelor of Laws degree from Florida State University School of Law.

Bream also fills in a special report with Bret Baier and Fox News Sunday. She appeared on the discussion program with Kristin Gasper, and will discuss the state legislature and the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.
