In early 2024, beloved reptile and wildlife enthusiast Brian Barczyk posted a video on YouTube announcing his impending death. Several days later, Brian died of inoperable stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Brian, founder of The Reptarium, a reptile zoo based in Utica, Michigan, said he would eternally look down on his family and loved ones from heaven.
Brian Barczyk and his wife, Lori Barczyk, were married for more than 30 years.
Brian Barczyk and his wife, Lori Barczyk, married in 1992 after meeting at the University of Michigan, where they studied biology. The couple shared two children: Jade and Noah. Brian was grandfather to Jade’s two children.
The Barczyk clan inherited their father’s love of wildlife. Lori helped Brian run the Reptarium, taking charge of animal care and breeding initiatives. She also oversaw daily business operations, handled finances and managed logistics.
Brian occasionally appeared on Lori’s Instagram page. Lori wished him a happy birthday in a post on September 6, 2021: “Happy birthday to my other half! I know life likes to throw us curveballs, but as long as we keep swinging we won’t be defeated! This year will be the best yet! Happy Birthday my love.”
