Smiley told Shannon Sharpe the Shay Shay Club that his marriage to Brenda Morris broke up after his career took off. He added that his career doesn’t allow him to date. “It’s just hard to be in a relationship; you’re everywhere,” Smiley said. He said it would require divine intervention to start dating.
Smiley and Brenda Morris welcomed four children: Brandon, D’Essence, Aaryn and Malik. Brandon died in January 2023 from a drug overdose. “I only have bad news this morning. My son, Brandon Smiley, passed away this morning. Pray for my son’s mother and my son’s siblings, pray for my son and my daughter, everyone who grew up with Brandon,” Smiley told his Instagram followers on January 29, 2023.
