Luke George Evans was born on April 15, 1979 in Pontypool, Wales to parents Yvonne and David Evans. Evans is the only child of his parents and was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness. He spent most of his childhood in Aberbargoed, a small village in the Rhymney Valley.
At the age of 16 he left school and moved to Cardiff to study with renowned singing coach Louise Ryan. Evans later received a scholarship to the London Studio Centre, where he graduated in 2000.
