Joey Jordison, born Nathan Jonas Jordison, is an American composer, musician, producer and multi-instrumentalist. He is best known for his work as the former drummer and co-writer for Slipknot, an American heavy metal band. He is also the guitarist of the American horror punk band Murderdolls. He has been a member of the band Slipknot since its foundation in 1995, and left it in December 2013. He has been performing with his drum sets since he was eight years old.

Joey Jordison Biography
Joey Jordison was born on April 26, 1975 in Des Moines, Iowa. Steve Jordison was his father’s name and Jackie Jordison was his mother’s. He also has two younger sisters and spent most of his childhood in a rural area outside of Waukee. He played basketball in the streets and in front of his home in his hometown.
His parents separated when he was quite young, and he and his siblings moved in with his mother. Later, his mother remarried and they soon opened a funeral home where Jordison sometimes helped out. He soon founded the band Modifidious, in which he played drums. He later called the band “complete speed-metal thrash”.
When he finished high school, he got a job at the local music company Musicland. In 1994, Joey took a job at Sinclair Garage in Urbandale. He worked at night to spend time with his friends and listen to music.
In 2016, it was announced that he was suffering from transverse myelitis, a neurological condition that temporarily took away his legs. He was also unable to play the drums before his recovery.

On November 28, 1995, Mark Anthony Cadavos met and offered him a role while working on a new project called The Pale Ones. Then Slipknot was formed, and each member of the group was given a number, with Joey being assigned #1.
