Cortez Hankton and Joe Sloan, co-offensive coordinators for the ReliaQuest Bowl
LSU head coach Brian Kelly named Cortez Hankton and Joe Sloan co-offensive coordinators for the ReliaQuest Bowl, following the departure of previous coordinator Mike Denbrock to Notre Dame. Cortez Hankton and Joe Sloan have been selected as co-coordinators for the upcoming ReliaQuest Bowl against Wisconsin. At LSU, Hankton is the passing coordinator and wide receivers coach. Meanwhile, Sloan coaches the Tigers’ running backs.
Brian Kelly expressed his faith in them, saying:
“I believe in Cortez and Joe’s abilities to lead the offense. They will work together in the passing game with Brad (Davis) and Frank Wilson in the rushing game. They are a cohesive group of instructors and I am glad they have this opportunity. I am sure he will do a fantastic job.”
Both Hankton and Sloan are in their second seasons at LSU. Cortez Hankton joined LSU after four seasons at Georgia, the last three as the Bulldogs’ passing game coordinator.
