The role of Jennifer Tong in Netflix Fakes

Jennifer Tong’s future role as Rebecca Li in the Netflix comedy-drama will be one of the most important since she’s one of the main characters. The official synopsis of the program is as follows:

“FAKES is the story of two best friends who accidentally found one of North America’s largest ID fraud companies. They move into a downtown penthouse with more money than they know what to do, only to be raided by the authorities. One is in prison and the other is not.”

According to Tong, the new show is “a comedy and a drama that have two equal parts, good and disturbing, and very entertaining.” She stated:

“What viewers can expect and get excited about is bullshit.”

The DC Legends of Tomorrow actor also discussed how the show’s treatment of Rebecca’s Asian heritage sets the character apart from others. She continued.

“It’s not about her ethnicity. She defies stereotypes imposed on Chinese women and is a completely flesh-and-blood character with uncanny charm and fatal flaws.”

Jennifer Tong recounted the opening few seconds of the official trailer for Fakes, saying:

“Every great thing has to come to an end. And great things, I mean sickly penthouses, proper supercars, ridiculous hot guys and too much alcohol.”
