Hamish Harding, a British explorer and billionaire, is among five people inside a missing Titanic tour submarine. The records explorer announced that he had joined the expedition as a mission specialist. “A weather window just opened and we are going to try diving,” Hamish wrote alongside a Facebook photo of him signing a card.

Brian announced Hamish’s disappearance via Facebook. Hamish Harding, my stepfather, has disappeared in [a] submarine,” Brian wrote. “Thoughts and prayers for my mother and Hamish Harding.” Brian added via a follow-up post: “Thoughts and prayers for my stepdad Hamish Harding as his sub went missing exploring the Titanic. The search and rescue mission is underway.”
Giles, who goes by @giles.explores on Instagram, has inherited Hamish’s passion for exploration. In early 2020, Giles became the youngest person to visit the South Pole. Giles joined Hames and Prince Ned Nwoko on the expedition to raise awareness of the Malaria Eradication Project in Africa. He said fifty shades of heaven:
“It was really amazing. Normally I don’t feel temperatures like -30℃. I am concerned about climate change and learned a lot more about it on this trip. I saw things that I hope are there for more kids to see in the future.”
Giles also joined his father on a voyage of exploration to the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench, the deepest point on Earth. “5 months ago we finished our historic descent and traversed to the bottom of the deepest point of the Mariana Trench,” Giles wrote in an August 2021 Instagram post. “I can’t believe it’s been this long but! I can’t wait for our next mission/trip/adventure!”
The rest of the Harding clan is reserved, none more so than the family matriarch. Brian said he removed Facebook posts announcing Hamish’s disappearance at Linda’s request. “For privacy, my mom asked me to delete all related posts,” Brian wrote. “Thanks for the support.”
