Greg Carr said 60 minutes that in 2004 he was able to walk the trails of the Gorongosa National Park without seeing a single animal. The decades-long war in Mozambique wiped out 95% of the wildlife in the national park. “You could probably do the math and figure it out, it’s over $100 million. My message to anyone who has money is, I mean, what are you going to do, put it all in your coffin? I mean, why not enjoy the joy of philanthropy? I would tell the billionaire next door to go out and enjoy spending his money to help some people.”
