After a low-key 2020 (which, to be fair, relates to most actors), Mike Epps appeared in two 2021 productions: Meet The Blacks 2 and the upshaws. The year did not start well for him after the loss of his father and his mother. “Give mommy a kiss for me,” Mike’s tribute to his dad read on Instagram.
It has been a year of immense growth for Mike Epps and his young family. His daughter, Indiana Rose Epps, gets prettier with every photo Epps or his wife, Kyra Robinson, posts. Let’s look at the couple’s relationship, as well as Mike’s past relationships and legal troubles.

Mike met his wife in 2017 at the airport. Kyra explained during an episode of the view that Mike used a cheesy pick-up line, and luckily, she thought it was funny. Mike admitted that she got lucky with the first line from her. The couple married two years later in a private ceremony in Newport Beach, California.
The star-studded ceremony featured celebrities like T.I. and Snoop Dogg. epps said the view who fought back tears as she read her vows:
“It was hard. When you meet someone as beautiful as Kyra, joy brings tears to my eyes.”
Mike’s marriage to Kyra was his second. He was previously married to Mechelle Epps and they finalized their divorce in mid-2017. Epps revealed in an interview with the breakfast club that he could not survive for long without a mate. He said:
“It seemed fast, but you know, I like being married. I don’t like being single. I’m one of those guys, I like to come home and find something structured. A little food, a little something. Someone with whom to share my day. I can’t date many women.
Kyra and Mike recently welcomed their first daughter, Indiana Rose Epps. Mike shared the news via an Instagram video of the baby and attached the caption:
“Let us introduce our newest addition to the family… INDIANA ROSE EPPS, roll your eyes and all is set…”
Before Indiana was born, Mike had five daughters and one granddaughter.

“God bless my beautiful wife,” Mike wrote alongside a photo from early June 2021 of Kyra cradling her tummy. “We are praying for a son.” “God gave me a gift that I will treasure forever,” Kyra wrote in a late July 2021 Instagram post.
Mike hopes that this time he will have a son to add to his many daughters. He told Tamron Hall that he wants to add something different to a home full of women. He said:
“I heard my mom complain all the time about having all these kids. Now that I have all these girls it’s like, ‘Man.’ It’s expensive and the house is noisy and there’s a lot of love. It’s fun, it’s always exciting.”
In an Instagram post from early July 2021, Kyra revealed that she never thought she would have babies. However, there is nothing that gives her more joy now than motherhood. “And to think: I never thought about having babies years ago,” she wrote.
“Now all I want to do is nurture and love and protect them. I still can’t believe I’m about to have two.” According to a recent photo, Kyra is counting down the last few days before the birth of her second child. She hopes that raising her second child will be just as fulfilling, but not as stressful as raising to a child during the pandemic.

Mike married Mechelle in 2006, and in mid-2017, they were involved in a messy divorce. The mess mainly involved spousal support and child support. In May 2017, Mechelle accused Epps of denying her access to her accounts so she could agree to a lower settlement. According BETmechelle said:
“Mike is trying to force me to conform by cutting off my support. He has been paying our bills as usual, until recently. Now, he’s cutting off my access to bank accounts and credit cards in an attempt to force me to make a deal.”
The matter was finally resolved in July 2017, and the couple went their separate ways. Mike is still heavily involved in raising the couple’s children.
He spent a lot of time in jail during his youth.

Mike had a difficult childhood. He was raised by a single mother who worked hard to support the family, but couldn’t always provide enough. To make matters worse, Mike was a failed student and decided to drop out of school to deal drugs. According Daily NewsEpps wrote in his book Unsuccessful Thug:
“A quarter ounce, you could flip it over and make a half ounce. Half an ounce, you could flip it over and make an ounce. One ounce could become two. Two could make four. Huh, I guess I could do math after all.”
Mike was eventually arrested and spent some time in prison. He doesn’t say how long he was there, but he was a regular because he couldn’t help but sell drugs. Mike wrote about his time at the Westville Correctional Center:
“It used to be an insane asylum and I believed people when they said it was haunted. I remember once when I was lying in my cell and I saw that something strange happened. He gave me chills. As much as I wanted to do something else, I couldn’t stay away from drugs for long. As a result, for a few years there, I was regularly in and out of both jail and prison.”
Fortunately for Epps, he did it as a comedian and gave up life as a criminal.
