Disney’s live-action movies make a lot of money!
From the 1990s to today, Disney has released 17 live-action movies with many more on the way.
the latest is The little Mermaid, starring Halle Bailey. According to Deadline, the film grossed $117.5 million domestically and $163.8 million globally in its opening weekend.
The film’s box office was at the center of some controversy prior to its release. Because? Aladdin Star Mena Massoud made some comments comparing the unreleased film to the one she starred in.
In particular, he implied that The little Mermaid would not earn more than a billion dollars at the worldwide box office as Aladdin did.
