Vivek Ramaswamy has agreed to stop rapping Eminem’s songs during his election campaign.
For the past few weeks, the 38-year-old Republican presidential hopeful has been rapping “Lose Yourself” to crowds at his campaign stops. However, Eminem and his music licensor BMI sent him a cease and desist letter to stop him.
While Vivek accepted the request, he also made a statement criticizing the Grammy winner.

During his interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell on Tuesday (August 29), Vivek criticized Eminem by referencing another of his songs.
“Look, I will respect your wishes. I’ll just say this: Could the real Slim Shady stand up? he said.
Vivek continued: “Eminem in his rise used to be a guy who really stood up to the establishment and said things that the establishment didn’t want him to say.”
“I think the fact that my political views may differ from yours makes people change throughout their lives. But I am hopeful that one day he will rediscover the renegade who made him great and I support that success in his life.”
