In 2019, Vishwanath participated in the 46th Junior National Kabaddi Championship, which was held in Rohtak, Haryana. He represented the Tamil Nadu state Kabaddi team. In 2022, Vishwanath participated and represented the Tamil Nadu state Kabaddi team in the 36th National Games held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. In the same year, he was selected by the Chennai-based Kabaddi team ‘Tamil Thalaivas’ as an all-rounder for Season 9 of the Pro Kabaddi League. Vishwanath was bought for Rs. 12.80 lakh.
The following year, Vishwanath was selected by Mumbai-based Kabaddi team ‘U Mumba’ and was bought for Rs. Rs 13 lakh to play in Season 10 of Pro Kabaddi League (2023). He played a total of 11 matches in which his overall raid strike rate was 44% and tackle strike rate was 53%.
In the same year, he represented Tamil Nadu-based team ‘Palani Tuskers’ in the Youth Kabaddi Series Summer Edition 2023 held in Mysore. Vishwanath’s raid strike rate in the tournament was 36.84% and tackle success rate was 43.10%. The team won the final of the tournament with a cash prize of Rs. 2 million.
