“It wasn’t my best moment… It was actually a horrible moment.”
Tiffany Gomas, also known as the “airplane freak” who went viral a few months ago for her public outburst just before a plane took off, has finally revealed what triggered her reaction.
The marketing executive demanded to get off an American Airlines flight in July after pointing to her empty seat and claiming that “that son of a bitch over there isn’t real.”

Since then, Gomas’ words have become a viral slogan, spawning hundreds of memes and products that have dominated social media.
The images caused a divide on the Internet: some found it funny while others were disturbed. Some even speculated that the Goma might have seen a shapeshifter.
A few months later, Gomas apologized for his actions and shared that he planned to raise awareness about “mental health and fighting cyberbullying” in the future.
Still, the growing question remained:
What exactly did you see?
During a guest appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, Gomas mentioned that she tries not to talk about the incident because it still makes her “shudder.”
He also shared that he had gotten into a “small altercation” with another passenger and had gotten “out of control.”
“It wasn’t my best moment… it was actually a horrible moment. Absolutely mortifying. How horribly mortifying,” Gomas said.
When asked who or what he saw that day, Gomas finally told the hosts the anticlimactic truth.
“I literally didn’t see anything,” he said. “It was an expression of speech.”
She continued: “They’re making me look like shit. And since I did it, it seemed absolutely crazy, but no, I was in my feelings, I needed to get that out of it, I was very distraught. He doesn’t look good.”
Gomas acknowledged that it would have been “much more exciting” if his story had lived up to online expectations. Unfortunately, it all came down to a big misunderstanding.
While this viral story had a disappointing ending, at least something positive came out of it.
