Paresh Ghelani is an American-based Indian businessman and philanthropist. He was born in Gujarat, India, but his family moved from Gujarat, India to Chicago, USA when he was a teenager. After living in Chicago for a few years, his family moved to Los Angeles, California and have lived there ever since. Since he was born in a business family, he continued his family tradition and became a millionaire businessman. He is the chairman of BPG Motors, a manufacturer of crossover or off-road vehicles.
Apart from being a successful businessman, he is also a philanthropist and is actively involved in the creation and investment of Moon Express, Viome Inc., DTV Motor Corporation, Ferret Treatment Technologies, Casepoint and Redimune Therapeutics.
His dream project as a philanthropist is the XPRIZE Foundation which helps people around the world solve big challenges through incentive awards. He, along with Ratan Tata and Naveen Jain, brought XPRIZE Foundation to India to solve fundamental issues of India like health, sanitation, women safety, clean water, waste management etc.
He also founded 2020 Company LLC, which provides the latest technology in education, defense and healthcare sector to the US government.
Although he has been friends with Sanjay Dutt since the 1980s, when he met him in New York, he rose to fame after the release of Sanjay Dutt’s biopic Sanju (2018), when it was revealed that Vicky Kaushal would be playing the role of Kamlesh. Kamali” was Kanhaiyalal. Kapasi was deeply inspired by Paresh.
After the release of Sanju, Paresh debuted on Instagram and wrote an emotional note and shared his relationship with Sanjay Dutt.
