Vineet Raina was born on Friday, 30 August 1985 (age 38 years; as in 2023) in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. His zodiac sign is Virgo.

Raina’s family was one of the many Kashmiri Pandit families who were uprooted from their homes in Kashmir in the early 90s. During his childhood, he used to entertain his parents by imitating his relatives. Recalling the same thing in an interview, he said,
In my childhood, I had a habit of imitating everyone who came to my house. I will carefully observe the guests and other relatives. Then, after they left, I would imitate him in front of my parents and they would laugh at it.”
Later he started imitating Sanjeev Kumar and Nana Patekar. He studied at Shri Pratap Memorial Rajput College of Commerce, Jammu. In college he was an active member of NCC. He completed his 3-year Advanced Diploma in Computer Software, Hardware, Telecommunications and Network Engineering in 2003. Later, he moved to Mumbai for better job opportunities.

Raina and Kaushal divorced in 2011, saying “they were not compatible with each other”. Talking about his divorce in an interview, Kaushal said,
It was only after marriage that we realized that we were completely different from each other. He is a good person but I think we both made a big mistake by getting married. We will file for divorce soon. ‘Marriages are made in heaven’ is nonsense and no one should have a love marriage.’
