Threat to Salman Khan
In June 2022, Vikram Brar came into controversy after his name surfaced in several media reports in sending threatening letters to Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan. Reportedly, in 2008, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, accused of the murder of Sidhu Moosewala, who is also said to be a close friend of Vikram Brar, had given a statement about killing Salman Khan while he was being taken to the court. Police personnel were present there.

Moosewala’s name came up in the murder of our brother Vikramjit Singh Middukheda and Gurlal Brar, but Punjab Police did not take any action against him. We also came to know that Moosewala was also involved in the encounter of our colleague Ankit Bhadu. Moosewala was working against us. Delhi Police had taken his name but Moosewala used his political power and saved his life every time.
Later, in June 2022, Haryana Police visited Pune to inquire into the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala, where they interrogated Santosh Jadhav and Siddhesh Kamble, who were allegedly accused in the murder of Sidhu Moosewala, and Vikram Brar. Name was mentioned. While talking to media persons, Kurukshetra Crime Branch Police Inspector Dinesh Chauhan said,
Vikram Brar is a wanted accused in Haryana. Since Jadhav and Mahakal were said to be in touch with Brar, we came here to interrogate both the accused to know about the whereabouts of Brar.
Subsequently, on 11 June 2022, Vikram Brar denied any involvement in the murder of Sidhu Moosewala through his respective Instagram handle. Apart from this, he also said that he has no involvement in the Salman Khan and Salim Khan threat letter case. After this, in his Instagram post he requested the police authority to investigate the letter case and remove his name from the case.

He was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on July 25, 2023 in a terror-gangster conspiracy case upon his return to India from the UAE.
