Jennifer Lawrence shares how she reacted to the actual ad that inspired her new movie, No hard feelings.
The 34-year-old actress plays Maddie, who, on the verge of losing her childhood home, agrees to date the awkward and introverted 19-year-old son of a wealthy couple before he leaves for college.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about the movie, Jennifer opened up about what she thought about the actual ad that ran on Craigslist that inspired the movie.

During the conversation with the outlet alongside director Gene Stupnitsky, Jennifer admitted that she thought it was “hilarious.”
“I read it and thought, ‘This is crazy. Who is the woman answering this ad?’” Gene shared first, adding, “I thought, ‘Oh, that’s going to be a great role for my friend Jennifer Lawrence.’”
Jennifer then chimed in, saying, “Gene read me the Craigslist ad and I cracked up…I thought it was funny, but there wasn’t a script or anything. I just thought I had a funny idea. And then a couple of years later, he handed me the funniest script I’ve ever read.”
He also shared that Matthew Broderick’s wig was also his favorite part of the movie.
“I felt bad because it was my first time seeing Matthew and I couldn’t stop laughing when I looked at him,” she said, noting that her long, gray, slightly curly wig was something to look at. .
