Unni Rajan P Dev was born on Saturday, 12 March 1994 (age 27 years; as in 2021) in Kochi, Kerala. He is the son of famous late actor Rajan P Dev. He did his schooling from Rajarshi Memorial Higher Secondary School. He completed his degree in Sound Engineering from Chennai. Unni was fond of acting since childhood and participated in many plays in his school.

He is the grandson of SJ Dey. Unni Rajan P Dev lost his father in 2009. Unni Rajan P Dev has two siblings; Jubil Rajan and Ashamma Binoy. Jubil Raj is also an actor of Malayalam film cinema. Ashamma works as a managing director in a private company.

Unni Rajan P Dev started his acting career with the 2015 Malayalam film Aadu, written and directed by Midhun Manuel Thoma. In 2016, he was seen in the films Appuram Bengal Ippuram Thiruvithamkoor (2016) and IDI: Inspector Dawood Ibrahim (2016). In 2017, Unni played the lead role in the film Kattu directed by Arun Kumar Aravind. His performance in the film was highly appreciated by the audience and earned him immense fame as a mainstream actor. Later in 2018, she was seen in several films like Aadu – Oru Bheegara Jivi Aanu 2, Mohanlal, Mandharam, Shibu and Janamaithri.
Controversy
On 12 May 2021, Unni’s wife, Priyanka, was found dead at her parents’ house in Vattappara village, Thiruvananthapuram. Initially, the local local police registered a case regarding Priyanka’s unnatural death. Earlier, she had filed a complaint of domestic violence against Unni at Vattappara Police Station in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Later, Priyanka’s brother filed a complaint against Unni, alleging that Priyanka was harassed by Unni and her in-laws. Unni was found infected with COVID-19 soon after the investigation began. After 14 days of quarantine and a negative Covid report, Unni was arrested by the local police on 25 May 2021.
During an interview with a local newspaper, Priyanka’s mother said,
When Priyanka was living with Unni in our house, I saw her getting beaten. When I went to stop him, he punched me. He also suffered injuries due to the attacks.”
