Tucker Carlson makes first comments since being fired from Fox News

Tucker Carlson is speaking out after he was fired by Fox News earlier this week.

The controversial conservative presenter shared a video on Twitter, apparently responding to his removal from the network, which was announced by the network just two days ago.

This is what Tucker said in the video:

“One of the first things you realize when you get away from the noise for a few days is how many genuinely nice people there are in this country,” his video statement began. “Kind, decent people, people who really care about the truth. And lots of fun people, too. Lots of those. It has to be the majority of the population, even now. That’s encouraging.”

Tucker continued: “The other thing you notice when you take a little time off is how unbelievably stupid most of the debates you see on TV are. They are completely irrelevant. They mean nothing. In five years, we won’t even remember we had them. Trust me, as someone who has participated. And then at the same time, and this is the unbelievable thing, the undeniably big issues, the ones that will define our future, are practically not discussed at all. War. civil liberties. emerging science. Demographic change. Corporate power. Natural resources. When was the last time you heard a legitimate debate on any of those topics? It has been a long time. Debates like that are not allowed in the American media.”

“Both the political parties and their donors have reached a consensus on what is best for them and are actively colluding to shut down any conversations about it. Suddenly, the United States looks a lot like a one-party state. That is a depressing realization, but it is not permanent. Our current orthodoxies will not last. They are brain dead. Actually, no one believes them. Almost no one improves life with them. This moment is too inherently ridiculous to continue. And it won’t be,” Carlson said. “Those responsible know it; that is why they are hysterical and aggressive. They have fear. They have given up persuasion, they resort to force. But it won’t work. When honest people speak the truth, calmly and without shame, they become powerful. At the same time, the liars, who have been trying to silence them, shrink and become weaker. That is the iron law of the universe. True things prevail. Where can you still find Americans saying true things? There aren’t many places left, but there are a few. And that’s enough. As long as you can hear the words, there is hope. See you soon.”

Tucker makes no reference to Fox News during his speech, but said that “America’s current orthodoxies won’t last” and that “there aren’t many places left” where one can find “truth-telling Americans.”
