Kelce then explained that Reid has helped him a lot in channeling emotion and passion. “I owe my entire career to that guy and being able to control how emotional I get,” he continued. “I just love him, man.”

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who was sitting next to Kelce, said: “That moment right there, it speaks to the team we are. Everyone loves it. “Everybody loves the game, everyone loves to compete, and Coach Reid wants to compete.”

Andy Reid shares his thoughts on on-field dispute with Travis Kelce

Along with Travis Kelce, Andy Reid spoke out about the incident stating that Kelce keeps him young. “He tried that hip,” Reid said during CBS Postgame Show. “He caught me off balance; normally I’d give him a little, but he didn’t have any foot under me.”

Chiefs head coach later saying who stumbled during the fight because Kelce caught him off balance. He noted that frustration shows the tight end’s focus on winning.

“What I love is that he loves to play and wants to help his team win,” Reid explained. “It’s not selfish, it’s not that and I understand it. So no matter how much he clashes with me, I pursue him and we understand.”

Reid went on to describe his players as passionate. “I love that, even if it beats my chest on the other side of 50. I appreciate it. I love that the boy wants to play and he wants to be there playing.”

The dispute occurred during the second quarter of Super Bowl LVIII. Just after Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco lost a fumble, Kelce was seen bumping into Reid and yelling in his face on the sidelines. Running back Jerick McKinnon pulled Kelce away.
