Travis Kelce signs historic deal with Chiefs
“No more problems with champagne. He bosses and All-Pro and Pro Bowl TE Travis Kelce agreed to terms on a new 2-year contract extension to make him the highest-paid tight end in the NFL, sources say,” NFL Network Insider Ian Rapaport tweeted , the 2nd of April. “The deal was made by his former agent Mike Simon.”
The Chiefs have already captured three Super Bowl titles in the Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce era. And next season they could become the first franchise to win three titles after winning consecutive titles in 2023 and 2024.
Mahomes already restructured his contract during the offseason to allow the Chiefs to acquire more talent. And now, after locking up Kelce for two more years with his new contract, Kansas City could be in prime position to solidify itself as a dynasty.
Chiefs star fawns over new gig
The wins continue to pile up for the All-Pro tight end. There were rumors that Kelce would be taking on a new role as a game show host. On April 16 she confirmed that she will be the new host of “Are You Smarter than a Celebrity.”
“I grew up loving game shows and am excited to follow in the footsteps of so many television icons by hosting the first with Are you smarter than a celebrity?“Chiefs star said in a statement.
“The original show is a huge hit, so bringing a new format featuring everyone’s favorite celebrities to the screen will definitely be entertaining.”
The three-time Super Bowl winner also joked that the best part about hosting the upcoming game show is the fact that he’s not a contestant.
