After weeks of preparation, the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers faced off in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs were able to beat the 49ers in overtime after a game-winning touchdown by Mecole Hardman.
The Chiefs have won three Super Bowls in the last six seasons. After an emotional win, Kansas City star tight end Travis Kelce shared an emotional moment with his mother, Donna.
Super Bowl cameras capture touching moment
Of course, cameras also caught Travis sharing another emotional moment with his new boyfriend. If you’re late to the party, Kelce started dating pop music star Taylor Swift earlier this season.
Following the exciting win, Kelce shared a celebratory kiss with the Grammy Award winner.
Patrick Mahomes dismisses comparisons with Tom Brady
The Chiefs have officially declared themselves a dynasty after claiming their third Super Bowl title since 2018. But beyond the dynasty, fans are witnessing one of the greatest players of all time in Kansas City. That would be their starting quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. Not only does Mahomes have three Super Bowl titles, but he has also been named MVP in all of those victories.
Mahomes has already built a Hall of Fame-worthy resume in just six seasons as a starter. And now you can start hearing the murmurs about whether he is the greatest of all time, ahead of legendary quarterback Tom Brady. After the victory, Mahomes ended those comparisons.
“Yes, I hear it (the comparisons)” Mahomes said after the victory. “For me, it will always be difficult because Brady beat me in the Super Bowl. I mean, I’m not even close to halfway there, so I haven’t thought about it much.”
Patriots legend praises Chiefs stars
Kelce and Mahomes have won three titles as teammates. Just one less win than Tom Brady and Patriots legend Rob Gronkowski won together in New England. And now those comparisons are about to begin as well. Early in the playoffs, Gronk had nothing but glowing things to say about the Chiefs’ quarterback and tight end combination.
“Travis and Patrick just put on an exhibition for the NFL week after week. There’s no doubt about that, but there’s one record that I’m proud to hold to this day and that’s the record for most receiving touchdowns by a tight end in a single season.” Gronk said.
“So if he breaks that one, I’ll be really bummed. But so far it has surpassed all other records.”
