Michael B. Jordan and director Ryan Coogler team up again, genre film in the works

Michael B. Jordan has worked with Ryan Coogler many times throughout his career and they are preparing to team up for another project.

A new report says the boys are working on a “genre” film, but no details are known yet. The report has shed some interesting information on just how secretive the film’s pre-production process has been.

Studio executives interested in buying the project have been forced to travel to WME’s offices in Beverly Hills to read the script since they are not allowed to leave the building for security reasons, according to reports The Hollywood Reporter.

After the executives read the script, step two of the process will begin. THR reports: “The second step will take place this week, and interested parties will meet with the filmmaker to hear him lay out his vision. A production commitment will be requested.”

So what is a genre film? The outlet says the term “encompasses horror and its subsets, as well as thriller, science fiction, and even fantasy.”

The film is expected to have a period element.

Ryan previously directed Michael’s films. Fruitvale Station, Creedand Black Panther. He also produced Creed II and Creed III.
