During the second quarter of the Christmas Day game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders, the NFL commentator inadvertently used the wrong title when referring to the singer-songwriter. Instead of identifying her as Kelce’s girlfriend, he mistakenly referred to her as his wife.
ESPN shared a video on Instagram showing the confusion. In the video, Swift can be seen standing, cheering on Kelce. The camera then quickly shifts focus from her to Kelce. “And his wife loves it, I mean, girlfriend,” Romo mistakes in the clip. “You’ve been down that road with that before,” announcer Jim Nantz joked.

After Monday’s incident, fans flocked to social media to get rid of their hard feelings over the situation. “Tony Romo saw the future,” one Taylor Swift fan wrote on the ESPN post. “Romo predicts all the plays, this one is also coming true,” another fan agreed.
