Facts/General Knowledge
- Talking about her reason for becoming a singer in an interview, Tina Sani said,
When I started doing music, I did not want to become a singer. It was just because I loved music, because my father loved music and there was the great classical maestro, Nizamuddin Khan Sahab, who was fortunately around. It’s just that I had a good voice and everyone told my father that I should learn classical music. My dad loved classical music and I was my dad’s favorite. I will do anything to make her happy. But when the maestros came, I had no idea what the etiquette of learning music was. Until then, I didn’t understand why my father or anyone who listened to classical music would nod in appreciation. It all looked the same to me. I grew up largely on Western music. I was a big Barbra Streisand fan.
