It’s no secret that The Walt Disney Company has had some major ups and downs as it continues to deliver live-action remakes that no one is asking for anymore. But that’s a story for another time…
Now Disney has turned its attention to the upcoming live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. It has since been announced that Shazam! Actress Zegler will play Disney princess nature enthusiast Snow White.

In Zegler’s opinion, the original Snow White was helpless and had to depend on the prince, or more specifically, a man, to save herself. He has also expressed that he never thought this trope fit the character of Snow White. Additional sources and increased social media activity have shown the actress sparking fervent debates about completely eliminating the prince as her character. It was recently announced that Zegler’s removal from the film was due in part to the ongoing Hollywood strikes that have disrupted several film and television production projects. Streaming services like Disney+, Netflix and Max have been greatly affected by the strikes.
However, given the actress’ reputation for brash behavior and unapologetic candor, it seems she may have inadvertently missed out on certain opportunities that could have left a lasting mark on her career.
As controversies continue to pile up, Disney’s live-action adaptation of snow White finds himself in another tempestuous situation: his decision to omit the dwarves from the film. However, Disney’s recent casting and production decisions have left many raising eyebrows and accusing the company of being overly “woke.”
