Donald Glover, popularly known by his stage name Childish Gambino, is an American musician, director, actor, and producer. Glover began his career as a comedy writer. 30 rock before leaving to play the role of Troy Barnes in Community. Donald felt his parents neglected him growing up
Donald Glover was born on September 25, 1983 in California and grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia. His father, Donald Glover Sr., was a postal worker and his mother, Beverly Smith, a daycare provider. Glover lived in a rough and uneven neighborhood, and saw a lot of violence when he was young. He said Don:
“If people saw how I grew up, they would freak out. Confederate flags everywhere. I had friends who were white, whose parents were very sweet to me but also said, ‘Never date him.’ I saw that what was offered on Sesame Street didn’t exist.”
Donald’s parents tried to help by offering to be foster parents, but inadvertently brought suffering closer to Glover. The children who came to the Glover house had been through traumatic experiences such as sexual abuse. Glover’s parents explained that they should pay more attention to the tormented foster children than to him, but Glover didn’t fully understand his logic.
Glover got by by working on his creativity and hoped to get his parents’ attention through it. He also wanted to change society’s perception of him and his race. glover said the voice of the people:
“I was the kind of kid who felt like I was always being blamed for things that weren’t my fault. So I always wanted things to work. And growing up in the South, people didn’t like him because he was black. And he took on this thing: I’m going to be so me, and I’m going to be so nice, that I’ll change their minds. And now I know that this is impossible. But he had to try.

Glover announced that his father passed away during a concert held two weeks after his death. Donald’s father passed away the day of the first Lion King the trailer came out. Glover voiced the role of Simba in The Lion King, and felt that he could play the character better now that he understood the pain of losing a parent. Simba lost her father, Mufasa, in what was perhaps the most emotional scene in the movie. glover said USA Today:
“The trailer came out the day my father passed away. And I called (Jon) and said, ‘Can I go back and redo some of the (lines)?’ I had to do it because I was like, I understand this in such a different way… I went through the exact same thing: when someone says, ‘You know that your father is always with you, you know that, right? ‘ And you don’t want to hear that.

Donald and Michelle were first spotted shopping together in Hawaii during the spring of 2016. White was heavily pregnant, and the couple reportedly welcomed their son that same year. While performing at the Governors Ball festival in June 2017Glover revealed: “This song is dedicated to everyone in this crowd and to my young son, Legend.”
Later in 2017, he yelled at his wife and son when he accepted the Emmy for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy. He also claimed that he and Michelle had another child on the way. The couple’s second son, Drake, arrived in January 2018. Donald discussed his decision to have children during a TCA panel for the second season of atlanta. He said:
“You are always ready, but you are not always ready. It really is never a good time. I definitely wouldn’t handle it any other way. I’m happy it happened when it happened because I don’t know if I would have handled it the way I have the contact to handle it now.”
It is unclear if Donald and White are married. Donald spoke about his lack of faith in the institution of marriage in a 2017 interview with the hollywood reporterbut in a July 2019 interview with entertainment tonight, he referred to Michelle as his wife. However, she was not wearing a wedding ring and the interviewer did not ask for details. All we know is that he shares a strong relationship with his wife. He said People:
“I think my partner, she makes all the hard things, to be honest. She is very understanding. I haven’t really had to change anything. But she has definitely given me another perception of what life is. She gives me a lot of context.”
Donald has managed to keep a tight rein on his private life throughout his career. He has rarely appeared in tabloid blogs about his personal life. Part of the reason this is so is because of the way he approaches social media. He said the new yorker that he removed his social media presence because “I felt like social media was making me less human and I didn’t feel so human anymore.”

“Some friends have sent in a couple (of the opinion pieces), but honestly, I haven’t been on the internet since (it went down). It’s bad for me. I’m very sensitive. I see something negative and locate that person. I go to his Instagram and I’m like, ‘You’re not that good. That baby isn’t even that cute!’”
Donald doesn’t completely stay away from social media. He participates in forums anonymously and communicates like a normal person instead of a celebrity.
