The highly anticipated third season of HBO’s hit dark comedy series The Righteous Gemstones has officially started production.
The Righteous Gemstones season 3 has officially started production. The HBO dark comedy series follows widower and megachurch leader Dr. Eli Gemstone (John Goodman) and the antics of his three children, Kelvin (Adam Devine), Judi (Edi Patterson), and Jesse (Danny McBride). The megachurch industry satire show was created by McBride, who also co-created the HBO series Eastbound & Down and Vice Principals with his fellow Righteous Gemstones star Jody Hill.
Now, HBO has announced thatThe Righteous Gemstones season 3 has officially begun production. HBO posted a photo to Twitter with the announcement, showcasing the backs of the Gemstone children, who are facing an audience of thousands as they grace the Gemstone Salvation Center’s stage. Outside of its main cast of the Gemstone family and Hill, the dark comedy series also stars Tim Baltz, Walton Goggins, Tony Cavalero, Cassidy Freeman, Jennifer Nettles, and Skyler Gisondo. Besides its series regulars, The Righteous Gemstones has also gifted viewers with some incredible guest appearances from Macaulay Culkin, Dermot Mulroney, Jason Schwartzman, Eric André, and Eric Roberts. McBride and Hill both act as executive producers on the hit HBO series alongside David Gordon Green, John Carrier, Jeff Fradley, and Brandon James. Although there is currently no release date set for season 3, fans of The Righteous Gemstones are already speculating what their favorite family of televangelists will be up to next.
