They have a special relationship depicted in the film. The audience knows that Harlan and Marta always play Go before going to bed, and that Marta always wins. When Marta confessed that fateful night to Ransom, he seemed annoyed that Harlan had blatantly lied that only Ransom could defeat him. Ransom confirmed that Harlan had married him as well, but did not tell anyone that Harlan had severed the family. His parents Linda and Richard say it was the best thing that happened to him.
The ransom received two cents when the family found out their phone was cut off and chased Marta. Ransom decides to help her escape, but also screams at her family: “I think this is the best thing that’s happened to you all.” The family gladly agreed to cut the ransom until they found out they did too. He decided to fight back with his own words.

Of all the family members, Ransom is the least popular and always causes a stir when they meet. Walt begins berating Ransom for not attending the funeral and memorial service, but he has yet to begin reading the will. A heated argument ensues between Richard and Walter, leading to a hilarious fight.

Panting, Ransom angrily closed Detective Blank’s door, and went on to say, “Use your Kentucky fog speaker to get the hang of it.” You can’t help but laugh because Blanc has a thick Southern accent, while Ransom uses common southern expressions. Especially in the grim situation, Ransom decided to attack Blank.

What’s a murder mystery without a great car chase? Well, a pretty quick car chase. The ransom helps Marta find the inspection report that will incriminate her. They were too late, detective and Blank were already in the lab. Blank spotted Marta and a car chase ensued.
The scene is hilarious because Marta’s car was never built for high-speed chases. This leads to Ransom’s line, “You’re on the floor!” This line represents the terrible situation they were in, as Marta’s car couldn’t go faster than 60 mph. The detectives, on the other hand, are 80 years old and find a way to hang out with them.

This is arguably one of the three best lines Ransom has delivered. The ransom is unraveled about Harlan’s decision to cut off his inheritance, and Walter is overjoyed. Walter was so excited that he explained to Ransom’s face that he would never see a dime from anyone in the family. The scene is tense, and then the Ransom breaks the tension.
After Walt’s moment, Ransom uttered the word “Wow!” The fact that Ransom doesn’t even need to say the word de-stress is ridiculous in itself. Add raised eyebrows and the most important smug smile. It draws another line when Richard calls Ransom “son” and Ransom imitates saying “father”.
CSI: KFC
After Ransom returned with her favorite snack cookie, Blanc introduced herself in a thick Southern accent. Ransom gave him a puzzled look before saying, “CSI: KFC?” You can catch the pun right away, or take a second to sink in before you start laughing.
Again, chewing cookies helps to last even longer. The line was such a good play on words that one of the detectives even chuckled. Blanc is a consultant with a southern accent, so CSI has combined with a popular Southern dish, fried chicken, to create a great product line.

Ransom’s best lines in the movie so far are the “eat shit” and “give up”. Joni was involved in the heated debate about excluding the Ransom from Harlan’s will, a decision his parents agreed to. This annoyed Ransom because Joni was trying to explain that good things are never easy.
Depressed, Ransom tells Jonny, “Come on,” while explaining that Jody has been taking the family’s money for too long. More chaos ensued as the ransom amount increased and was ordered to “eat shit” before pointing it at each worthy member of the family.
The golden scene because of Ransom’s lines. It seemed to create a humorous moment in the whirlwind of chaos and murder as his family looked at him with pure disgust and anger. To make things better, Ransom doesn’t care what his family thinks. It’s a perfect example of a dysfunctional upper-class family with money and ego at the center.
