The Mandalorian Helmet by Denuo Novo Review

Season 3 of The Mandalorian has begun and to celebrate the latest in live-action Star Wars, we’ve been dressing up for the part with the STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN™ Helmet Accessory from Denuo Novo, a lightweight and comfortable replica of the helmet as seen in the series brought to life with 3D digital scan technology and hands-on research with stunning accuracy.

Denuo Novo was founded in 2021 and has the high-end costume and high-end collectibles licenses for Star Wars. With it, they offer a wide array of helmets in addition to many other costume accessories from a galaxy far, far away. The most timely of which is the one based on what’s used by Pedro Pascal and his doubles on set, Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder, as they play Din Djarin who – as per a sworn oath to The Mandalorian creed – must never remove it.

That rule is especially tough to follow while filming for Pedro Pascal who describes wearing the Mando’s helmet as being “blind” as it’s so difficult to see. With Denuo Novo’s The Mandalorian helmet however, visibility is not as much of an issue. It’s quite comfortable given the nature of the helm, and includes multiple removable pads to place as the user sees fit.

As for the visor on this piece, it’s almost too transparent as from the outside looking in, with the right lighting, the wearer’s eyes, nose, and mouth become visible. This is the only element of this wonderful Star Wars accessory that we’d change on the exterior of The Mandalorian helmet in what otherwise, is an amazingly screen accurate collectible showcase-worthy item that’s as functional as it is stunning to look at.

Mandalorian Helmet by Denuo Novo - Worn

On the interior however, it’s not as pretty. the visor plastic is a little flimsy and hobbyists may look to insert a darker tinted piece for the visor, and the padding is attached with very visible glue. The workmanship and padding here are substance over style for comfort as this really is made to be able to wear and use for extended periods of times, hence the lightweight factor being crucial as well. The entire inside is padded, with extra padding for the front and cheek areas, in addition to three removable and washable pads that can be placed anywhere with velcro, meaning extra can be added as well easily if needed.

Order From Denuo Novo

Denuo Novo’s helmet looks as good, if not better, than the images depict. The packaging it comes in is simple and forgettable, comprising the helmet being bagged with plastic, inside a Star Wars branded bag, kept safe with foam packing peanuts in a cardboard box that sits inside of another cardboard shipping box. There’s nothing to display or keep from the shipping material like you’d get in a Hasbro product, instead, this is about the premium item kept safe inside.

The STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN™ Helmet Accessory from Denuo Novo is available now in time for season 3 of the show, and I’ve been wearing it for fun to do tasks at work and around the house daily, and displaying it otherwise beside a Grogu statue. The item is so perfect for this and for cosplay, it has convinced me to get the rest of Djarin’s beskar armor and suit, and of course, the darksaber so I can lead the Mandalorians.

For collectors or cosplayers inspired by The Mandalorian, this helmet is the way. For interested readers, Denuo Novo also has several flagship Star Wars items on sale as of March 1st:

  • Katan Helmet (preorder)
  • The Mandalorian Helmet
  • Grogu Statue (as seen in our photos)
  • Jango Fett Helmet
  • Sabine Wren Season 2 Helmet

Summary: The Mandalorian is set after the Empire’s fall and before the First Order’s emergence in the ever-growing Star Wars universe. The series follows the travails of a lone gunfighter named Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic. Acting as the first live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian has become incredibly popular on Disney+, partly due to Mando’s relationship with Grogu, which the internet dubbed “Baby Yoda” upon his introduction in season 1.
