Stars like Leah Remini, Kevin James, Gary Valentine, Victor Williams and Patton Oswald gathered to remember Stiller in a special way.
He king of queens The cast recently celebrated the show’s 25th anniversary, coming together for a table read, a Q&A, and to pay tribute to late star Jerry Stiller.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, former members of the show presented an emotional video as part of their tribute to Stiller. The video, which details the many accomplishments in the actor’s life, featured familiar faces, including his son Ben, his daughter Amy, Ray Romano and Ricki Lake.
In the video, Ben spoke about his father, explaining, “He did it out of nothing. He had the dream of being an actor. Truly a story of the American dream.”
“He left home at 17 and joined the Army. He had a crazy childhood during the Depression. I think he had all these things inside him that he kept bottled up. He was such a nice person that he only let it out at his work,” Ben continued.
Ben further explained that his father’s job was his life, adding: “Acting was what kept him young, what kept him going and the camaraderie he had with his fellow actors on the show. [The King of Queens]I know, it meant a lot to him.”

Kevin James and Leah Remini, who played the lead roles of Doug and Carrie in The king of queens, He also commented on the immense role Stiller played in their lives.
Remini tearfully recalled that Stiller was a father figure, both on the show and behind the scenes.
“Jerry could have been in the first scene and they said, ‘It’s okay for you to go.’ “You don’t have to stay all night while we film,’ and he would stay,” the actress explained.
Remini continued, “Jerry knew that most of the people who came to the show wanted to meet Jerry. They would get our photo, sign the script and say, ‘Jerry is here? Is Jerry here? Because he talked to everyone.”
James recalled his time on set with Stiller, adding, “He cared about you a lot, you know what I’m saying?”
“I remember there was a recording we had where I was sick beforehand,” James said. He added: “I didn’t know if I could do the show. He had stomach pains and all that.”
The actor went on to describe the instance in which Stiller practically “cured” him backstage. After describing his uncomfortable symptoms to the comedian, James said Stiller told him to “lie down” and lift his shirt. Stiller then put his hands on James’ stomach.
James recalled: “I was just looking at him and honestly, a minute went by where nothing was said and his hands were warm and then he took them off and I don’t know if it was placebo or he just wanted to.” He shook it off, but I instantly felt better and was able to do the show.”
“He was an angel. He was a great man,” concluded James.
