Recently, the cast of Modern Family held a meeting. The reunion was attended by cast members Sofia Vergara, Ariel Winter, Sarah Hyland, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ed O’Neill, Julie Bowen and Eric Stonestreet. Younger cast members were also in attendance, including Rico Rodiguez, Nolan Gould and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, now all adults, as reported by USA Today.
Vergara took to Instagram and uploaded three carousel posts, two individual photos, and a video of the meeting.
In the first post, the actress included a photo of everything Modern Family cast. In the snap, Winter, who played fictional character Alex Dunphy on the show, was holding a framed photo of Ty Burrell.
“First Modern Family reunion!!!!❤️❤️❤️,” Vergara captioned the post.
One of Vergara’s followers commented on the post, “holding Phil’s photo like he passed away,” referring to Ty Burrell’s character on the show.
“Bro, I thought Phill died, I almost had a mini heart attack 😭,” another commented.
In a video uploaded by Vergara, who played Gloria in Modern Familythe camera panned over a photo of Burell sitting on a fireplace mantel.
In the background, viewers can hear several different cast members yelling, “We miss you, Ty!”

Again, several Vergara followers were confused about Burrel’s whereabouts.
“THIS MADE ME THINK I WAS DEAD I PANICED LMAO,” read one comment, garnering over 33,000 likes in agreement.
“Please don’t ever do this again,” another fan commented. “I thought she was gone!!”

Cast member Jesse Tyler Ferguson also took to Instagram to share his favorite snaps from the reunion.
In one snap, Ferguson posed next to Burrel’s photo, originally captioning the post: “Almost perfect meeting. We just missed you, Ty! So we brought a nice photo instead.”

After fans presumably panicked over Burrel’s absence, Ferguson changed the caption to “Almost perfect @modernfamily reunion. We even had both of our dads there, Chris Lloyd and Steve Levitan!
Maybe the next meeting Ty Burrel can attend using the iPad telepresence robot, Phil Dunphy style of course.
