Sequels are often highly anticipated, but they are not always necessarily worthy successors to the original, especially when it comes to the horror genre.
In many cases, its poor reputation among moviegoers is unfortunately justified: studios are often more interested in piggybacking on an already successful franchise than developing a solid plot for a sequel to an original film.
