Kishore Kumar Jena aka Kishore Jena Rinku was born on Wednesday, 6 September 1995 (age 28 years; as of 2023) in Kothasahi village, Brahmagiri region of Puri district, Odisha, India. His zodiac sign is Virgo. He was interested in sports since childhood and used to play volleyball more than javelin throw. Later he tried to get admission in the sports hostel of Bhubaneswar in volleyball; However, he had no certificate in volleyball to show, so he showed his javelin throw certificate during a tournament in Cuttack, after which he was admitted and started his training in javelin throw in 2015. He completed his school education. Brahmagiri High School, Puri. Later he did his graduation from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar.

Later he started training at NIS, Patiala under coach Samarjit Singh Malhi where he improved significantly. After throwing the javelin more than 80 meters for the first time, he was surprised by his progress and said he thought it was impossible to do. Later he broke many national and international records.
