Tarsem Singh Saini aka Taz Stereo Nation aka Johnny Zee was born on Tuesday, 23 May 1967 (aged 54 at the time of his death) in Coventry, West Midlands, England. His zodiac sign is Gemini.
He did his schooling from Stoke Park School, Coventry, England. During an interview he talked about his training in music. He said,
I am a bathroom singer and I have not taken any such training. I play keyboards enough to be able to compose and I am completely soul-driven when it comes to performing on stage.
He added,
My father was very adamant that English music would not be played at home; Even speaking English was banned. I grew up listening to Shaukat Ali Khan, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Gurdas Maan and Kuldeep Manak. Gurdas Maan ji is truly the God of Punjabi music. But my identity was Asian-fusion where I mixed both English and Punjabi. I have always promoted Punjabi and will do so in future also. When I entered the music industry and created the fusion genre, my father didn’t talk to me for four years!”

Death
Earlier, he was diagnosed with hernia, and his surgery was postponed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in his condition worsening. In 2021, he went into a coma and recovered after being hospitalized for a few days. In March 2022, he again faced health problems and died on 29 April 2022 due to prolonged illness.

- During an interview he told how British pop star Neville Staples saw him. He said,
While working in my father’s shop I was spotted by a famous British pop star named Neville Staples of the Two Tone bands ‘The Specials’ and ‘Fun Boy Three’. I had the habit and inclination of singing on the radio and practicing my singing techniques. Neville was listening to me from outside the shop and I guess I still count my lucky stars to this day. They liked what they heard and invited me to the recording studio to record some demos. Before I knew it, we were recording our first album and the rest is history.
