Taylor Swift’s new album 1989 (Taylor version) is available now and includes five songs from the vault, including “Bitch!”
This is one of the most talked about songs from the album since the tracklist was revealed, and it’s because fans believe they already know the meaning behind the song.
Taylor’s song appears to be a response to the embarrassment she experienced early in her career, when the media had fun with her dating history and all the famous men she had been with.
“But if I’m dressed up / They might be watching us / And if they call me a whore / You know it might be worth it for once / And if I’m going to be drunk / Maybe we’ll be drunk on love too,” Taylor sings on The chorus.

So what does the song mean?
In 2016, Taylor was asked what advice she would give to her 19-year-old self and she said, “If I could talk to my 19-year-old self, I would say, ‘You’re going to date like me.’ To a normal twenty-something person He should be allowed to do it, but you’re going to be a national lightning rod for slut-shaming.’”
