Taylor Swift recently resumed her Eras tour which is currently in Australia. But in the middle of the tour, the pop star’s father found himself in the middle of some controversy. Swift’s father, Scott, is under investigation for assaulting a paparazzi according to a new report from TMZ.
“The New South Wales Police Media Unit tells TMZ…cops are investigating an alleged assault. [The assault] They were informed on Sydney’s north shore very early on Tuesday morning local time. This after a photographer named Ben McDonald filed a complaint claiming just that,” TMZ wrote.
“We are told police were told that a 71-year-old man, believed to be Scott, allegedly got into a physical confrontation with a 51-year-old man. [The confrontation happened] at Neutral Bay Wharf around 2am on Tuesday as I was leaving the area.”

Violence is never justifiable. But it’s understandable why Swift’s dad might feel so nervous. Her daughter recently discovered that she had a stalker. And he is a man who had “frequently” visited her home in New York City. So often that he made the neighbors uncomfortable.
“A man who, according to numerous witnesses, frequently waits outside or near Taylor Swift’s Manhattan home has been arrested. [It was} near her home for open warrants. [he admitted] was there to see the pop star, according to a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation,” CNN reports.
“Police responded to repeated calls from Swift’s neighbors. “A rowdy man had been hanging outside his building in Tribeca and was refusing to leave the area, the source said.”
Travis Kelce reveals Swift’s father’s nickname
Swift began dating Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce in 2023. The couple are two of the best to have done so in their respective careers. So the coverage has been massive. On a recent episode of his and his brother Jason’s podcast, “New Heights,” the star tight end revealed his nickname for the pop star’s father.
“We’ve already talked about how they’ve known each other since the Philly days,” Travis said when talking about how Taylor’s father already knew Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.
“Scott Swift, shout out to Big Scott. He and Andy are good friends.”
