Glen Powell opens up about his next film tornadoes!
The 35-year-old actor is one of the stars of the new film, which was first revealed to be in the works in 2020.
While it was previously said that the film’s plot would center on Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton’s characters on the verge of divorce, it was later noted that it would center on their daughter, who has contracted the storm chasing virus.
However, Glen now shares that the new film has its own story.

“It’s definitely not a reboot. “We’re not trying to recreate the story from the first one,” Glen shared with Fashion. “It is a completely original story. There are no characters from the original film, so it’s not really a sequel. It’s just a stand-alone story today.”
“I don’t think anyone has mentioned this movie in a long time, but talking to people, they say, ‘That was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid.’ That movie terrified me,’” he continued.
“When I was working on Top gun, [Tom] “Cruise mentioned something really interesting, when he said, ‘If you want to make movies of a certain size, scope and scale, you have to figure out what can connect with everyone around the world in each territory,'” Glen added. “And humans versus the climate is a very universal idea: how powerless we really are in the face of these cataclysmic forces.”
