Taylor Swift’s alleged stalker was seen being led away in handcuffs from a New York City police station on Tuesday. On Monday, near Swift’s Manhattan home, David Crowe, a 33-year-old man from Seattle, was arrested and faced charges of harassment and stalking.
Crowe was initially seen outside Swift’s Franklin Street residence by a member of his security team around 3 p.m. He reportedly appeared to be wandering aimlessly around the facility, but made no effort to enter.
Security staff alerted police, who responded quickly to reports of him harassing several people on the nearby street approximately three hours later. As a result, he was arrested and taken into custody.
“Multiple complainants approached officers and reported that an emotionally disturbed man was acting erratically at the location,” the NYPD said in a statement. “Once officers observed the man harassing several complainants, they took him into custody without further incident and no injuries were reported.”
Taylor Swift was not at her Manhattan home when her alleged stalker was arrested
Swift was not present at the time. She traveled from Buffalo to New York City on Sunday night, where she had been watching her boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs. Of course, Swift and Jason Kelce cheered as the Chiefs dominated the Bills. According to flight records, she departed for Nashville, Tennessee, on Monday.
On Saturday, Crowe was arrested after police received a report about a “disorderly person” trying to gain entry to Taylor Swift’s residence. He was accused of failing to respond to a subpoena issued in 2015, according to CNN.
Of course, Swift has unfortunately faced numerous cases of bullying and harassment. In 2022, a man was arrested for recklessly driving a car into the singer’s apartment building in New York. He was under the influence.
In another incident in 2018, a stalker managed to break into her home. Incredibly, he even took a nap in his bed. These disturbing developments highlight the need to increase the safety and security of public figures.
Taylor Swift went into detail about stalkers for ELLE in 2019. “There are enough stalkers trying to get into your house that you start setting yourself up for bad things,” Swift wrote. She even revealed that she always carries QuikClot, a military-grade bandage for gunshot and stab wounds.
