Taylor Swift wins album of the year at 2024 Grammys, angering SZA fans

Just after Taylor Swift earned her fourth Album of the Year at the 2024 Grammys, SZA fans were quick to express their frustrations over the voting.

In posts on X (formerly Twitter), many SZA fans praised Taylor Swift but also claimed that the rap artist should have won. “I LOVE YOU TAYLOR, I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU,” wrote one SZA fan. “But… SZA WAS ROBBED! CALL FOR HELP IT WAS STOLEN!”

The fan then wrote that SZA’s album has “versatility, production, lyricism and everything” that deserved recognition.

I LOVE YOU TAYLOR, I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU. But… SZA WAS ROBBED! SOS WAS STOLEN! The versatility, production, lyricism and EVERYTHING it entailed deserved recognition.

Other SZAs responded to the comment. “I feel like CALL FOR HELP I deserved it, but I want to know the impact of midnight throughout the last year CALL FOR HELP It pales in comparison,” another SZA fan explained. “CALL FOR HELP deserved [Album of the Year]and maybe in a year without such strong competition it would have swept.”

A fellow fan agreed with the original comment. “CALL FOR HELP It was so amazing and [honestly] She deserved it, although I’m not mad that Taylor won. She works just as hard. “Although I’m glad SZA won some Grammys this year.”

Although she didn’t win Album of the Year, SZA won three other Grammy Awards. They are Best Progressive R&B Album for SOS, Best R&B Song for Snapand Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for ghost in the machine, which is her collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers. She also had an amazing performance during the event.

SZA was ‘breathless’ but rushed to greet Taylor Swift while accepting Grammy Award

Upon being announced as the winner of Best R&B Song at the 2024 Grammys, SZA took the stage to give a heartfelt acceptance speech.

After accepting the award from host Lizzo, SZA said she was out of breath because she was putting on her outfit. “Then I shot and ran here,” he explained. “But Lizzo and I have been friends since 2013, when we were both on a small Red Bull tour together, opening in small rooms for about 100 people. And being on stage with her is incredible. I am very grateful.”

While thanking her nearest and dearest, SZA had a list. “I would like to thank my parents, my mom and dad,” he said. “God, Top Dawg, Punch, all of TDE and my brothers in TDE, to my godparents, to my niece.”

As her speech continued, SZA noticed Taylor Swift in the crowd and couldn’t help but give her a shout-out. “And… Hi Taylor! I love you. I’m really grateful. And I’m not an attractive crybaby. Have a good evening.”
