Tanzeem Hasan Saqib was born on Sunday, 20 October 2002 (age 21 years as of 2023) in Tilkanpur village, Sylhet, Bangladesh. His zodiac sign is Libra. He completed his schooling from Balaganj Government DN High School, Bangladesh. He did his further studies from Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Pratisthan (BKSP). When he was young, he received a talent pool scholarship for the PEC exam while studying at Adityapur Government Primary School, Balaganj.

In eighth grade, he was selected for the under-13 national team at the Moulvibazar District Stadium. He completed a three-month bowling course at the Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong and enrolled at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Foundation. During his training at BKSP, he participated in the Bangladesh national under-17 cricket team matches in India in 2016 and the under-19 team matches in England and Sri Lanka in 2019. He played his first List A match for Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan. 2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League on 27 March 2019. In December 2019, he was selected to be part of Bangladesh’s squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his first-class debut for Sylhet Division in the 2020–21 National Cricket League on 29 March 2021. He made his T20 debut on 5 June 2021 in a match between Abahani Limited and Brothers in the Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League. He was given the Man of the Match award in the tournament.
In December 2021, he joined the Bangladesh squad for the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies. Tanzim made his ODI debut on 15 September 2023 in the Asia Cup against India. He was selected as a substitute player in the Bangladesh team for the 2023 Asia Cup. In his first international match in Asia Cup 2023, Shakib dismissed India captain Rohit Sharma. In an interview, while talking about Rohit’s wicket taking, he said,
Rohit Bhai’s first wicket was a dream wicket. I just focus on line and length. I prepare myself mentally for a long time. On that ball (the last ball to Shami), I was confident that I could bowl the perfect ball. Very good feeling.”
In November 2023, he featured in his final List-A game for Bangladesh ‘A’ against India ‘A’ in the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup tournament in Sri Lanka. During the match, he dismissed opener Sai Sudarshan and all-rounder Riyan Parag.
Controversy
In September 2023, Tanzeem received criticism for some Facebook posts that various media outlets considered misogynistic. People’s opinion in the country was mixed. Some people argue that according to the country’s constitution everyone has the right to freedom of expression. Tanzeem apologized to the Bangladesh Cricket Board, saying that he did not intend to hurt anyone and those who were offended. He denied being a misogynist, saying, ‘My mother is a woman, so I can never be a misogynist.’ Cricketer Mehdi Hasan Miraz shared on social media that although Tanzeem expressed himself in a ‘wrong’ manner, he did not intend to express any misogyny.
