Takeoff’s career as a rapper began when he and Quavo founded Polo Club, a rap group, while they were both in high school, completing their high school studies. Initially, the duo used to write raps and perform in and around their area in Georgia. Later, Takeoff and Quavo added Offset to their group after which they changed the group’s name from Polo Club to Migos. In August 2011, he released his first full-length project, a mixtape titled Jug Season.

Detained for consuming banned substance
On April 18, 2015, when Migos performed a show at Georgia Southern University’s Spring Concert, the Georgia Southern Police Department, which was securing the event, arrested Takeoff, Quavo, Offset, and 12 other Migos drivers on smoking charges. Death
On November 1, 2022, when Takeoff, along with Quavo, was attending a private party hosted by his friend at 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston, Texas, he got into a heated argument with an unidentified man outside the bowling alley, Who shot and killed him.
