Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney said they accepted rumors that they had become romantic in the Any boy but you established as a marketing strategy for the romantic comedy.
while talking to The New York Times, Powell and Sweeney discussed their alleged affair. “The two things you have to sell in a romantic comedy are fun and chemistry,” Powell explained. “Sydney and I have a lot of fun together and we have a lot of natural chemistry. “People want to get what’s on the screen off the screen, and sometimes you just have to lean into it a little bit.”
Although Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell are not romantics, the duo said the strategy worked for them and for the film, which generated $219 million at the global box office.
Powell praised Sweeney for being very smart about promoting Nobody but you. She starred in, produced and marketed the film, so she knew how to attract more people to the romantic comedy.
“I probably kept everyone in marketing and distribution at Sony awake at night because I couldn’t stop coming up with ideas,” Sweeney admitted. “I wanted to make sure that we had an active conversation with the audience while promoting this film because, at the end of the day, they are the ones who created the entire narrative.”

Although Sydney Sweeney is still with her boyfriend, Jonathan Davino, Glen Powell’s relationship with his longtime girlfriend, Gigi Paris, ended as rumors circulated.
“It was very hard for Glen,” Sweeney said of the rumors. “What made me sad… Because [otherwise] It was such a beautiful experience for both of us. “I care a lot about him.”
Amid romance gossip, Sydney Sweeney opened up about her relationship with Davino. “I never share much [about my relationship],” she said. “That’s why the press loves to create drama in stories.”
Glen Powell ended up addressing the rumors. “The only reason it was harder for me to lean into those things was because I was going through a very real breakup in the middle of a promotional tour,” he said. “I was with someone I really loved and cared about and I was trying to make sense of a lot of things.”
Powell noted that it was easier for Sweeney to become more involved in the gossip because of their relationship. “She is very happy. So it was a little more difficult for me.”
