Surya Narayana was born on Monday, 1 April 1991 (age 31 years; as of 2022), and hails from Rajahmundry, East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. He spent his childhood in Pasuvullanka and Bhimavaram. His zodiac sign is Aries. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Pasuvullanka. Later he went to Hyderabad. In an interview, he revealed that he was studying PG when he had a breakup and decided not to go to college further. After leaving college, his friends sent his resume to the Red FM office without informing him. Initially, he was reluctant to go for the interview, but later, he thought that at least he would get a chance to have lunch at the audition venue, the five-star Hotel Sheraton. In the interview, he was asked to imitate many celebrities, after which he was selected in the top 50 out of 650 people. He passed the audition and achieved success and started working as a radio jockey in Red FM in Hyderabad. Although his East Godavari dialect was not welcomed initially, he soon picked up the culture and language.

Early in his career, he used to take up mimicry programs for supplemental income. Apart from working as an RJ, he has also written comedy bits for various projects, one of them being director AV Rao Comedy on 93.5 Red FM. In 2013 he started working in Red FM Telugu.

He not only organizes shows on radio but also writes his own scripts. In an interview he talked about writing the script and said,
It’s easier for me to write comedy because I feel this is the time when I can move forward and put my thoughts on paper as an audience without worrying about any star or company.

- During his master’s studies, he left his college because his girlfriend broke up with him. In an interview, he had said that at that time he felt very angry and was afraid that he might have a fight with someone in college.

I was a gold medalist in mimicry, and that art requires quick learning and adapting to different speech patterns. This helped me learn the ways of Hyderabad.”

Those eight months were torturous. I often feel like what am I doing in this place so far away. Don’t I have my own people at home etc.? I couldn’t sleep so I used to wander on the streets.
- In an interview he had said that he wants to play the role of villain in films. Talking further about this he said,
A hero has morals and ethics and doesn’t theoretically beat anyone other than the villain. But the villain is ruthless. There is no limit to it. He can be bad and can be bad to everyone, the hero, the heroine, their family, everyone! That’s why I want to play the role of a villain.”
