Surinder Singh (also spelled Surender Singh) aka Surinder Singh Dehal was born on Thursday, 23 July 1998 (age 25 years; as of 2023) in Dehalan, Una, Himachal Pradesh, India. His zodiac sign is Leo. He started playing Kabaddi under his coach Sushil while in school and later joined the SAI (Sports Authority of India) hostel in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh where he trained for two years. He studied till 12th from Government Senior Secondary School, Dehlan.
Due to some issues in his family, he returned back to his village where he continued playing Kabaddi in local tournaments. He later earned a Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports degree from Lovely Professional University (LPU), Phagwara, Punjab. He later became a professional Kabaddi player.

Pro Kabaddi League (PKL)
Surinder Singh participated in the Future Kabaddi Heroes initiative in 2017 and later the New Young Players (NYP) initiative, Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) events to identify young talent; He was persuaded by his coach Jaipal to test in these initiatives. He was acquired from these initiatives by U Mumba for PKL Season 5 in 2017 for Rs 6 lakh and was later retained for Season 6 (2018) and 7 (2019) for Rs 6.60 lakh and Rs 37.50 lakh respectively .
Telugu Titans acquired him for Rs 55 lakh for PKL Season 8 (2021-22).
He returned to U Mumba in PKL Season 9 for Rs 35.50 lakh and became their captain. He was retained as captain by U Mumba in season 10 in 2023–24.

- His playing position is right-cover, and he plays as a defender. He also plays as a raider in local tournaments.
- Surinder talked about his childhood in an interview and said that his schoolmates used to tease him because they thought he was slow. They often made fun of him and sometimes threw him in the mud when it rained. He used to wash his clothes in the nearby Gurudwara and go to school in a wet uniform. Once he saw two of his seniors being honored by the school management for getting selected in the army. This incident inspired Surinder to do something big in his life. He filled a bag with sand and started practicing with it until he was accepted into local teams.
- His signature move is the Quick Dash. He said in an interview that his skills improved significantly after playing with Fazal Atrachali and Anup Kumar.
- In an interview, he revealed that he was once playing in Mumbai when he read a comment on one of his social media posts which made him very angry. She sent the commenter her location and asked for saying such things to her face instead of the comment. Later his management team came to know about it and explained to him that he should not take the bad comments seriously.
